- Rotowire Ingram will tend the twine at home Thursday against the Islanders, Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reports.Ingram and Karel Vejmelka have been starting every other game over the Yotes’ last seven contests and it’s Ingram’s turn in the crease. The fact that the 26-year-old backstop is coming off a 28-save shutout performance versus Anaheim on Friday certainly isn’t hurting his case to get more opportunities. Nonetheless, look for the goalie rotation to continue for the foreseeable future.
- Coyotes’ Jason Zucker: Set for hearing with league Rotowire Zucker will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Wednesday.Zucker retaliated for what he deemed a dirty hit by the Panthers’ Nick Cousins and will now face at least a one-game suspension, though given the intentional nature of the play it seems unlikely Zucker will get off with just one game. The Coyotes are currently carrying just 12 forwards on their 23-man roster, so they will need to either call up a player from the minors or utilize seven defensemen against the Islanders on Thursday if Zucker is unavailable.
- Coyotes’ Lawson Crouse: Contributes short-handed helper Crouse notched a short-handed assist and two hits in Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to the Panthers. Crouse has gotten on the score sheet in four of the last five games, earning three goals and two assists in that span. He set up Alex Kerfoot for the Coyotes’ lone tally in Tuesday’s game. Crouse has 24 points (five on the power play, one shorthanded) with 79 shots on net, 63 hits and a plus-6 rating through 35 contests this season. The winger continues to play a strong physical and two-way game in a second-line role.
- Coyotes’ Alex Kerfoot: Scores short-handed goal Tuesday Rotowire Kerfoot netted a short-handed goal in a 4-1 loss to Florida on Tuesday. Kerfoot’s marker came early in the third period and tied the contest at 1-1, though Arizona was unable to build off his tally. He’s been held off the score sheet just once over his last seven contests, accumulating three goals and eight points in that span. That brings him up to five markers and 23 points in 36 outings this year. Kerfoot is averaging a career-high 17:28 of ice time in his first campaign with Arizona, which has helped put the 29-year-old on pace to surpass the 50-point milestone for the second time in his career.
