Team Notes Phoenix Suns

  • Suns’ Oso Ighodaro: Cleared to play Monday

Ighodaro (illness) is not listed on the injury report for Monday’s game against the 76ers.

Ighodaro was sidelined for Saturday’s loss to the Pacers due to an illness but will suit up Monday. Across 12 December appearances (one start), Ighodaro averaged 3.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 15.4 minutes per game.

  • Suns’ Tyus Jones: Omitted from injury report

Jones (illness) isn’t listed on the injury report for Monday’s game against the 76ers.

Jones was sidelined for Saturday’s loss to the Pacers due to an illness, which was his first absence of the season. However, the Suns‘ starting point guard should be back in action Monday. Across 13 December outings, Jones averaged 14.2 points, 4.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 29.6 minutes per game.

  • Suns’ Monte Morris: Ties season high in expanded role

Morris dropped 12 points (3-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT) through 22 minutes in the 126-108 loss to the Pacers on Saturday.

With Tyus Jones (illness) out of the lineup, an opportunity for Morris to step up presented itself. He hit his season-high points total for the third time this season but failed to contribute in other areas, making it a mostly lackluster fantasy night for the backup guard. Morris will likely continue to see an increased role in the offense if Jones is to miss any further time.

  • Suns’ Kevin Durant: Team-high 25 points in loss

Durant posted 25 points (9-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven boards, seven assists and one block in 38 minutes of action during Saturday’s 126-108 loss to the Pacers.

After a strong December in which he averaged 28.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists, Durant kicked off his January with a similarly balanced outing. Despite the Suns‘ woes, the star wing has remained as reliable a fantasy producer as ever, so long as he’s been healthy.
