Diamondbacks’ Corbin Carroll: Day-to-day with back issue
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that Carroll (back) is considered day-to-day, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Carroll had to be removed from Sunday’s Cactus League game against the Rangers due to back tightness. The outfielder said after the contest that he was unconcerned about the injury, and Lovullo’s comments Monday confirm that it’s considered minor. Carroll has been excellent so far this spring, going 6-for-12 with three home runs and a pair of stolen bases.

Diamondbacks’ Randal Grichuk: Returning to spring lineup
Grichuk will be included in the lineup in Monday’s Cactus League game against the Cubs after missing a couple of days with lower-back tightness, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
Grichuk was initially scratched from Arizona’s spring lineup Saturday due to what the team referred to as glute discomfort, but the injury was apparently back-related. Assuming he emerges from spring training fully healthy, Grichuk looks poised to fill a short-side platoon role for Arizona at designated hitter or in the corner outfield.

Diamondbacks’ Kendall Graveman: Feels discomfort
Graveman experienced tightness in his back while throwing a bullpen session Saturday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Graveman will be sent to undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo described the issue as “nothing too alarming.” Graveman signed with the Diamondbacks after camp opened and has yet to appear in a Cactus League game.

Diamondbacks’ Eduardo Rodriguez: Makes spring debut
Rodriguez allowed one walk and struck out one over two scoreless innings in Sunday’s spring start against the Rangers.
Rodriguez cruised through his first Cactus League start, setting down the side in order in the first inning and working around a two-out walk in the second. He threw 31 pitches (18 strikes). The left-hander told Steve Gilbert of MLB.com following Sunday’s outing that he threw all of his pitches and feels everything is right where he wants it to be, which suggests the pitcher will be ready to go come Opening Day. Rodriguez opened the 2024 season on the injured list due to a shoulder issue and was limited to just 10 starts in the first year of a four-year contract.

Diamondbacks’ Corbin Carroll: Not concerned with back injury
Carroll said that he isn’t concerned about his back tightness that caused him to be removed from Sunday’s spring game against Texas, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Carroll went 0-for-2 with a strikeout before being replaced by Jorge Barrosa in right field in the third inning. Carroll will not play against the Cubs on Monday, and with the Diamondbacks scheduled for an off-day Tuesday, he’ll look to rejoin the lineup for Wednesday’s bout against the Giants.
