Dbacks report from SRF

  • Diamondbacks’ Kendall Graveman: Imaging clean

Graveman (back) underwent imaging Monday which came back clean, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Graveman will receive treatment for what manager Torey Lovullo described as mid-back tightness. There’s still plenty of time left in camp for relievers to be ready for the regular season. Graveman, who racked up 24 saves during a three-year stretch from 2021 to 2023, will be a depth piece in Arizona’s bullpen.

  • Diamondbacks’ Corbin Burnes: Works on breaking stuff

Burnes focused on his breaking pitches during Monday’s start against the Cubs, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Burnes, who elevated his pitch count to 47, made his third Cactus League start and used it to hone his offspeed stuff. The right-hander said he still has some work to do overall but was pleased at how well the breaking stuff played.

  • Diamondbacks’ Randal Grichuk: Delivers two hits in return

Grichuk started in left field and went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday’s spring game against the Cubs.

Grichuk returned to action after being scratched Saturday due to back tightness. He made an immediate impact, homering in his first at-bat. The right-handed batter had a strong season in a part-time role for the Diamondbacks in 2024, when he recorded a .914 OPS against lefties.

  • Diamondbacks’ Corbin Carroll: Day-to-day with back issue

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that Carroll (back) is considered day-to-day, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Carroll had to be removed from Sunday’s Cactus League game against the Rangers due to back tightness. The outfielder said after the contest that he was unconcerned about the injury, and Lovullo’s comments Monday confirm that it’s considered minor. Carroll has been excellent so far this spring, going 6-for-12 with three home runs and a pair of stolen bases.

  • Diamondbacks’ Randal Grichuk: Returning to spring lineup

Grichuk will be included in the lineup in Monday’s Cactus League game against the Cubs after missing a couple of days with lower-back tightness, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

Grichuk was initially scratched from Arizona’s spring lineup Saturday due to what the team referred to as glute discomfort, but the injury was apparently back-related. Assuming he emerges from spring training fully healthy, Grichuk looks poised to fill a short-side platoon role for Arizona at designated hitter or in the corner outfield.
