Suns recap and notes from Summer League

  • Suns’ Oso Ighodaro: Strong scoring effort in SL loss

Ighodaro chipped in 17 points (7-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-10 FT), six rebounds and four assists across 31 minutes in Wednesday’s 89-85 Summer League loss to the Timberwolves.

Ighodaro struggled at the free-throw line Wednesday but turned in an otherwise strong scoring effort. He played in 61 games (six starts) during his 2024-25 rookie season, averaging 4.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 17.1 minutes per contest.

  • Suns’ Boogie Ellis: Scores 23 in SL loss

Ellis tallied 23 points (7-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal across 27 minutes in Wednesday’s 89-85 Summer League loss to the Timberwolves.

Ellis tied Rob Dillingham for a game-high 23 points in Wednesday’s close loss. He’s been suiting up for the Suns this summer after spending last season in the G League with both the Indiana Mad Ants and Stockton Kings.

  • Suns’ Koby Brea: Out with thumb sprain

Brea (thumb) is out for Wednesday’s Summer League game against the Timberwolves, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.

A sprained left thumb will keep Brea sidelined for the first time during the Summer League. The severity of the injury is unclear, but the likes of Boogie Ellis and Oso Ighodaro are in line to take on additional playmaking duties Wednesday in Brea’s absence.

  • Suns’ Rasheer Fleming: Scores seven points in SL debut

Fleming notched seven points (3-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt), two rebounds, one steal and one block across 14 minutes in Monday’s 94-76 Summer League loss to the Kings.

The No. 31 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Fleming made his Summer League debut following a two-game absence due to a right knee issue. The Suns gave minutes to their entire roster Monday, so the 21-year-old saw limited action. The Saint Joseph’s product is coming off a productive 2024-25 campaign, during which he averaged 14.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 1.4 steals and 1.3 assists across 31.2 minutes per game in 35 outings.

  • Suns’ Ryan Dunn: Paces Phoenix in SL loss

Dunn generated 18 points (6-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one steal across 22 minutes in Monday’s 94-76 Summer League loss to the Kings.

Dunn was extremely efficient during his limited run, finishing as the only Suns player to score in double figures. The 2024 first-round pick has appeared in two Summer League outings so far, averaging 17.5 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 65.0 percent from the field in 25.5 minutes per game.
