Suns’ Jared Butler: Catches on with Phoenix
Butler signed a one-year deal with the Suns on Wednesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
The 76ers declined Butler’s team option in early July, but the 2021 second-rounder will be on an NBA roster for the 2025-26 season. He played 60 regular-season games (17 starts) between the Wizards and 76ers last season and averaged 9.0 points, 3.7 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 0.7 steals across 17.4 minutes per game. Butler will compete for reserve backcourt minutes behind Devin Booker and Jalen Green during training camp in October.

Suns’ Jordan Goodwin: Claimed off waivers
The Suns claimed Goodwin off waivers Wednesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
The Lakers waived Goodwin on July 20 to help pave the way for the team to sign Marcus Smart. Goodwin played in 29 regular-season games during the 2024-25 campaign, averaging 5.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 43.8 percent from the floor and a career-high 38.2 percent from beyond the arc.

Suns’ Alex Schumacher: Leads second unit in SL win
Schumacher finished with 16 points (5-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six assists, three rebounds and two steals across 22 minutes in Saturday’s 111-87 Summer League win over the Trail Blazers.
Schumacher was one of five Suns players to record double-digit points, leading the bench in scoring. He also tied the game high in assists. The 24-year-old appeared in 48 G League outings between the Windy City Bulls and Valley Suns in 2024-25, during which he averaged 8.2 points, 3.0 assists and 2.7 rebounds across 22.6 minutes per game.

Suns’ Khalif Battle: Pours in 21 points in SL win
Battle tallied 21 points (8-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists and four rebounds across 23 minutes in Saturday’s 111-87 Summer League win over the Trail Blazers.
Battle torched the nets during an efficient outing against Portland, finishing with a game-high mark in points. The 25-year-old spent his final collegiate season with Gonzaga, during which he averaged 13.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals across 26.8 minutes per game in 35 outings.

Suns’ Koby Brea: Doesn’t play Saturday
Brea (thumb) didn’t play in Saturday’s 111-87 Summer League win over the Trail Blazers.
Brea missed the team’s final two Summer League games due to a sprained left thumb. Over three Summer League appearances, he averaged 12.0 points and 4.0 rebounds across 24.0 minutes per game.
