Cardinals’ Budda Baker: Double-digit tackles to begin 2025
Baker recorded 10 tackles (five solo), one tackle for loss and one pass defensed in Sunday’s 20-13 win over the Saints.
Baker was on the field for 100 percent of defensive snaps and led the Cardinals in total tackles. He’s coming off a career-best season in 2024 when he posted 164 stops, and he’ll be one of the most important defensive players in Arizona once again in 2025. Baker logged double-digit tackles in seven of 17 games last season, and he began the new campaign in similar positive fashion.

Cardinals’ Chad Ryland: Connects on four kicks vs. NOLA
Ryland went 2-for-3 on field-goal attempts and made both of his extra-point tries during the Cardinals‘ 20-13 win over the Saints on Sunday.
Ryland made each of his first four kicks, including a 50-yard field goal early in the second half. He had an opportunity give the Cardinals a 13-point lead late in the fourth quarter, but his attempt from 46 yards out was blocked at the line of scrimmage, which led to a Saints’ field goal nine plays later to make it a single-score game. Ryland is coming off a 2024 campaign in which he connected on 87.5 percent of his field-goal attempts and made all but one of his 27 extra-point tries.

Cardinals’ Trey Benson: Leading rusher in Week 1 win
Benson carried the ball eight times for 69 yards and caught his only target for six yards in Sunday’s 20-13 win over the Saints.
The second-year back led Arizona in rushing thanks to a 52-yard scamper around right end on the team’s first drive of the second half. James Conner saw 12 carries but gained only 39 yards, with his longest run going for 12, and the split both of touches and of production bodes well for Benson as the season moves forward. He’ll look to continue carving out a significant role in the offense at home Week 2 against the Panthers.

Cardinals’ James Conner: Salvages day with TD
Conner carried the ball 12 times for 39 yards and caught all four of his targets for five yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s 20-13 win over the Saints.
The veteran was bottled up at the line of scrimmage and watched second-year back Trey Benson break off a 52-yard gain to help him lead the Cardinals in rushing on the day, but Conner was able to make an impact with a four-yard TD catch on an underhand flip from Kyler Murray in the second quarter. Benson was expected to cut into Conner’s workload as the 2025 season progressed, but the split could tip even further in the youngster’s favor based on the duo’s Week 1 performances. Conner will look to reinforce his claim to the RB1 role at home Week 2 against the Panthers.
