Cardinals’ Jacoby Brissett: Expected to get starting nod Sunday
Brissett is likely to start at quarterback for the Cardinals against the Colts on Sunday, as Kyler Murray is in line to be sidelined by his foot injury, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Murray’s foot injury is a “version of a Lisfranc injury” and could keep him out of action for more than one week. Arizona hasn’t yet officially ruled out Murray for Sunday’s matchup, but it sounds like Brissett is going to be the club’s starter against the Colts, with whom he played four seasons from 2017 through 2020. Brissett has taken just four offensive snaps and thrown just one pass (an incompletion this season), but he has ample NFL experience and completed 95 of 161 pass attempts for 826 yards and two touchdowns along with one interception as a member of the Patriots last year. He also rushed 15 times for 62 yards.

Cardinals’ Kyler Murray: Not expected to play Sunday
Murray (foot), who remains listed as questionable for Sunday’s Week 6 matchup against the Colts, is likely to be sidelined, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Murray is dealing with a foot injury that kept him to a DNP/DNP/LP practice progression this week. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Murray is dealing with a mid-foot sprain that is “a version of a Lisfranc injury” and that could sideline the nimble quarterback for more than one week. While the Cardinals haven’t completely closed the door on Murray playing Sunday, it appears the team will most likely turn to Jacoby Brissett to start at quarterback against Indianapolis. Brissett is familiar with the Colts organization, having played for the club for four seasons from 2017 through 2020.

Cardinals’ Blake Gillikin: Lands on IR with back injury
The Cardinals placed Gillikin on injured reserve Saturday due to a back injury, Zach Gershman of the team’s official site reports.
Gillikin appeared on Thursday’s practice report due to a back injury, which is severe enough for him to warrant a stint on injured reserve. He’ll be required to miss at least the next four games, making Week 11 against the 49ers on Sunday, Nov. 16 the earliest he is eligible to be reinstated off IR. Pat O’Donnell will serve as the Cardinals’ punter against the Colts on Sunday and for as long as Gillikin is shelved.

Cardinals’ Kedon Slovis: Signed to active roster
The Cardinals signed Slovis to the active roster from their practice squad Saturday, Zach Gershman of the team’s official site reports.
Slovis will provide extra depth at quarterback as Kyer Murray (foot) is considered to be a game-time decision for Sunday’s matchup against the Colts. If Murray doesn’t play, Slovis would serve as the team’s backup behind Jacoby Brissett.

Cardinals’ Bilal Nichols: Not playing Sunday
Nichols (personal) has been ruled out for Arizona’s matchup versus the Colts on Sunday.
Nichols was a late addition to the injury report and will now miss his fifth game of the season. With Darius Robinson (pectoral) out as well, Dante Stills is in line to get the start at defensive end alongside Josh Sweat for Sunday’s game.
