Cardinals’ Garrett Williams: Getting designated for return
Arizona designated Williams (knee) for return from its injured reserve list Tuesday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Williams missed the Cardinals‘ last five games leading up to their Week 8 bye due to a knee injury he suffered in Week 2 versus the Panthers, but it now looks like he could be on track to play again soon. His name will be worth looking out for when Arizona releases its first official practice report of the week Thursday.

Cardinals’ Kyler Murray: Completes on-field workout
Murray (foot) was on the field for Tuesday’s bonus practice session and was spotted throwing passes to the Cardinals‘ main receiving options, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Drake notes that Murray hasn’t been throwing to members of Arizona’s first-team offense in practices for weeks while he’s been managing a foot sprain, but his presence on the field Tuesday is an indication that he’s in a much better spot physically coming out of Arizona’s Week 8 bye. Head coach Jonathan Gannon acknowledged as much following the unofficial workout, telling Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com that Murray is “doing better” after missing the Cardinals’ last two games before the bye. The Cardinals’ first Week 9 injury report will be released Thursday and will indicate whether Murray is practicing as a limited or full participant, but at this stage, he appears to be trending toward starting Monday’s game in Dallas.

Cardinals’ Michael Carter: Returns to Arizona’s practice squad
Arizona re-signed Carter to its practice squad Tuesday.
Following a Week 8 bye, the Cardinals released Carter from the 53-man roster on Monday, but the fifth-year running back will end up sticking around in the organization. At the moment, Arizona has only two running backs on its roster — Bam Knight and Emari Demercado (ankle), the latter of whom sat out the Week 7 loss to the Packers — so Carter seemingly has a good chance of being elevated from the practice squad to add depth to the backfield ahead of Monday’s game in Dallas. Knight still projects to serve as Arizona’s lead option on the ground in Week 9, though Carter will likely have a role in the game plan if he’s elevated.

Cardinals’ Michael Carter: Back with Arizona
Coach Jonathan Gannon said Carter will take part in Tuesday’s practice, indicating that the Cardinals at least have re-signed him to the practice squad, Darren Urban of the team’s official site reports.
On the heels of a Week 8 bye, Arizona released Carter on Monday, which likely was a procedural move in order to open up a spot on the active roster due to the imminent activation from the reserve/PUP list of rookie first-round pick Walter Nolen (calf). Carter has been serving as the No. 2 RB behind Bam Knight in the team’s last two games with James Conner (foot) out for the season and Trey Benson (knee) on IR. During that two-game stretch, Carter combined for 100 yards from scrimmage on 20 touches.
