New England Patriots Recap and Notes

  • Patriots’ Harold Landry: Returns to practice

Landry (knee) was a limited participant in New England’s practice Wednesday.

Landry didn’t practice at all last week but managed to make his return Wednesday, albeit in a limited capacity. The 29-year-old was inactive for the AFC Championship Game but is seemingly trending in the right direction toward playing in the Super Bowl. However, if he ends up being unable to play, Anfernee Jennings and Elijah Ponder would likely see increased playing time.

  • Patriots’ Robert Spillane: Doesn’t practice Wednesday

Spillane (ankle) didn’t participate in New England’s practice Wednesday.

Spillane hasn’t practiced since the AFC Championship Game, as he’s still nursing the ankle injury that forced him to exit the contest early. However, the 30-year-old said that he’s confident he’ll be good to go for the Super Bowl on Sunday, where he would resume his role as the team’s defensive signal caller.

  • Patriots’ Mack Hollins: Not listed on injury report

Hollins (abdomen) wasn’t listed on Wednesday’s practice report.

Hollins spent four weeks on injured reserve with the abdominal issue, missing the final two weeks of the regular season and New England’s first two playoff contests. He returned for the AFC Championship Game against Denver and caught two passes for 51 yards on 61 percent of the offensive snaps. Hollins appears ready to roll for Sunday’s Super Bowl against the Seahawks.

  • Patriots’ Hunter Henry: Clear for Super Bowl LX

Henry (rest) wasn’t listed on Wednesday’s injury report.

Henry was listed as DNP/LP/FP last week due to rest but still was one of nine Patriots to get tagged as questionable for Super Bowl LX. His lack of a listing to begin this week indicates he’s good to go ahead of Sunday’s game against the Seahawks. In New England’s three postseason contests to date, Henry has combined for a 6-81-1 line on 10 targets.

  • Patriots’ Drake Maye: Logs full practice Wednesday

Maye (right shoulder) practiced fully Wednesday.

Maye tended to a right shoulder injury after the Patriots‘ win in the AFC Championship Game at Denver that left him listed as limited last Wednesday and Thursday. He then missed Friday’s practice due to an illness and emerged from the first week of Super Bowl LX prep with a questionable designation. After throwing “a good bit” Monday, Maye told Zack Cox of the Boston Herald, “I feel good. I’ll be just fine.” With an uncapped session to begin this week, Maye has backed up his statement and thus is set to lead the Patriots offense Sunday versus the Seahawks.
