Suns recap and notes

  • Suns’ Collin Gillespie: Muted production continues

Gillespie ended with five points (1-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, one block and one steal in 20 minutes during Tuesday’s 114-110 Play-In Game loss to the Trail Blazers.

Gillespie continues to put up underwhelming production, scoring in single digits for the fifth time in his past six appearances. While it has been a breakout season for Gillespie, much of his success came when other players were sidelined. With the team now mostly healthy, he has shifted back to a modest role. During his past six games, Gillespie has barely been a top-300 player, averaging 6.3 points, 1.8 assists and 1.3 three-pointers in just 22.5 minutes per game.

  • Suns’ Mark Williams: Blocks three shots in loss

Williams logged four points (2-3 FG), four rebounds, two assists and three blocks across 22 minutes during Tuesday’s 114-110 Play-In Tournament loss to Portland.

Williams recorded a game-high three blocks, although that’s really where the positives end. Despite being healthy, Williams continues to play limited minutes. In his past two games, he has averaged just 5.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 21.0 minutes per game. Tuesday’s loss will see Phoenix face off against either the Clippers or the Warriors, with the winner going on to play the Thunder in the first round of the playoffs.

  • Suns’ Jalen Green: Goes for 35 points in loss

Green finished with 35 points (14-29 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one block across 35 minutes in Tuesday’s 114-110 loss to the Trail Blazers in the Play-In Tournament.

Green carried the Suns offensively in a game where Devin Booker was held to 7-for-17 shooting from the field, and the former delivered his best scoring mark of the entire 2025-26 campaign. Green will need to be at his best again when the Suns play in the final game of the Play-In Tournament on Friday, either against the Warriors or Clippers.

  • Suns’ Oso Ighodaro: Not starting Tuesday

Ighodaro won’t start Tuesday’s Play-In Tournament game against Portland, Hayden Cilley of ClutchPoints.com reports.

With Mark Williams (foot) back in the lineup, Ighodaro will slide to the second unit. The second-year center averaged 5.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steals across 20.1 minutes per game in 58 regular-season appearances off the bench.
