Suns Recap and News

  • Suns’ Grayson Allen: Remains out for Friday

Allen (knee) will not play during Friday’s game against the Pelicans.

It will be a fourth straight absence for Allen. His next chance to suit up is Saturday, which is also against the Pelicans.

  • Suns’ Mark Williams: Just misses double-double Tuesday

Williams recorded 18 points (7-8 FG, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 21 minutes during Tuesday’s 132-108 victory over the Lakers.

The fourth-year center just missed pulling down his eighth double-double of the season. Williams has recorded at least one rejection in four straight games, and through eight contests in December, he’s averaging 12.8 points, 5.6 boards, 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks in 22.1 minutes while shooting 75.0 percent from the floor.

  • Suns’ Devin Booker: Big double-double in Tuesday’s win

Booker posted 21 points (7-14 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 7-8 FT), two rebounds, 11 assists and two steals across 27 minutes during Tuesday’s 132-108 victory over the Lakers.

The double-double was his fifth of the season, and first since Nov. 21. Booker has scored more than 20 points in four straight games since returning from a minor groin strain that cost him three contests, averaging 27.8 points, 6.3 assists, 2.8 boards, 1.8 steals, 1.0 threes and 0.8 blocks during that span.

  • Suns’ Dillon Brooks: Strikes for game-high 25 in win

Brooks registered 25 points (10-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) in 24 minutes during Tuesday’s 132-108 win over the Lakers.

While Brooks led all scorers on the night, he was curiously quiet in all other categories. The 29-year-old forward has drained multiple three-pointers in six straight games and nine of the last 10, averaging 22.5 points, 2.9 boards, 2.4 threes and 1.8 assists over that latter stretch.
