PHX Suns Recap and Notes

  • Suns’ Jamaree Bouyea: Ruled out for Wednesday

Bouyea (concussion) has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game against the Grizzlies.

Bouyea will miss a second consecutive contest while in the league’s concussion protocol. The two-way player’s next opportunity to suit up will come Friday against the Knicks.

  • Suns’ Jalen Green: Remaining out vs. Memphis

Green (hamstring) has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game against the Grizzlies.

Green is still recovering from a right hamstring strain he sustained in a win over the Clippers on Nov. 8, though he’s set to be re-evaluated any day now. The 23-year-old shooting guard can be considered doubtful for Friday’s game against New York until the Suns provide an update on his status.

  • Suns’ Grayson Allen: Held scoreless in return

Allen (knee) recorded zero points (0-6 FG, 0-4 3Pt), six assists, four steals and three rebounds across 22 minutes in Monday’s 100-97 loss to the Rockets.

Though Allen delivered some useful numbers in the assists and steals columns, his scoreless effort on 0-for-6 shooting from the field limited the overall value of his stat line in his first game since Dec. 14. Allen had started in each of his previous 18 appearances on the season, but the Suns elected to bring him off the bench Monday to better manage his minutes after he had missed the team’s previous nine contests due to right knee injury management. The 30-year-old may not move back into the starting five for Wednesday’s game in Memphis, but he should see at least a slight uptick in minutes if he remains in a reserve role.

  • Suns’ Oso Ighodaro: Nearly double-doubles

Ighodaro logged nine points (4-5 FG, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and two steals across 27 minutes during Monday’s 100-97 loss to Houston.

Mark Williams had a quiet outing in 21 minutes, while Ighodaro was far more effective in this one. He’s trending up in deeper formats, posting averages of 6.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.5 blocks in 24.0 minutes over his last eight contests.

  • Suns’ Rasheer Fleming: Scoreless again Monday

Fleming closed Monday’s 100-97 loss to the Rockets with zero points (0-3 FG) and three rebounds in five minutes.

Fleming continues to be used sparingly, failing to score for the fourth straight game. At this point, it appears he will be spending a lot of his time on the bench, having averaged just 7.0 minutes per game through 20 regular-season appearanc
