Suns Notes and Recap

  • Suns’ Devin Booker: Out again

Booker (ankle) is listed as out for Thursday’s game against Golden State.

Booker has been making strong progress in his recovery from a sprained right ankle, but he’s not quite ready to retake the hardwood. The star guard has missed six straight games due to the injury, and his absence has allowed Grayson Allen to enter the starting lineup. Booker’s next chance to play will come Saturday against the 76ers.

  • Suns’ Jalen Green: Questionable for Thursday

Green (hamstring/hip) is questionable for Thursday’s game versus the Warriors.

Green has missed the past two contests with hip and hamstring issues, and that number could hit three Thursday evening. If Green is out again, Collin Gillespie and Grayson Allen will continue to do the heavy lifting on offense, and there will be more minutes available for Jordan Goodwin.

  • Suns’ Mark Williams: Records 11th double-double

Williams ended Tuesday’s 130-125 victory over the Trail Blazers with 24 points (11-14 FG, 2-3 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist and one block in 26 minutes.

Along with his double-double, Williams enjoyed one of his highest scoring totals of the season during the victory. Although Donovan Clingan succeeded against Williams’ defensive efforts, a complete performance from the Suns was enough to turn the tide. Williams’ production rebounded after a three-game stint in which he averaged only 7.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

  • Suns’ Grayson Allen: Hits for 24 points in victory

Allen notched 24 points (9-18 FG, 6-11 3Pt), one rebound, three assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Tuesday’s 130-125 win over Portland.

Allen turned in another solid total in the victory. He’s now started six consecutive games, averaging 20.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.2 rebounds during that stint. His tenure with the first unit could come to an end once Devin Booker (ankle) returns, but Allen should still have a noticeable impact with the second unit.
