Wimbledon 2026: Live updates, schedule, bracket, results as Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Amanda Anisimova fall

The upsets have arrived at Wimbledon. The 2026 edition of the tournament saw chalk rule the roost for much of the first three rounds, but Saturday finally saw some chaos on the women’s side of the field.

No. 2 seed Elena Rybakina fell in straight sets to No. 25 Elis Mertens, No. 3 Iga Swiatek did the same against No. 29 Alexandra Eala and No. 6 Amanda Anisimova went down in three sets against No. 26 Madison Keys.

Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, could not manage anything offensive on Saturday against Mertens. It marks her second straight third-round exit from the grass courts after winning in ’22, reaching the quarterfinals in 2023 and the semifinals in 2024.

The 21-year-old Eala is the first Filipino to ever reach the fourth round of a grand slam after her impressive win over Swiatek, the 2025 Wimbledon champion. Meanwhile, this is a disappointing finish for Anisimova, who was fighting her emotions after dropping the second set. She reached the finals at Wimbledon last summer.

CBS Sports was with you throughout the day on Friday with the latest updates and results from both brackets.
