Cardinals’ Karson Sharar: Records four tackles in HOF Game
Sharar (hamstring) recorded four tackles (one solo) during the Cardinals‘ 33-30 loss to the Panthers in Thursday’s Hall of Fame Game.
Sharar played 52 snaps (32 on defense, 20 on special teams) during Thursday’s exhibition game and finished tied for the fifth-most tackles on the Cardinals. The rookie sixth-rounder was dealing with a hamstring injury in the offseason that prevented him from participating in OTAs, but he has been cleared to participate in training camp practices. Sharar is battling for a rotational role at linebacker, though if he sees the field during his rookie season, most of his playing time will likely come on special teams.

Cardinals’ Zach Carter: Nursing knee injury
Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur told reporters Friday that Carter is dealing with a knee injury and that it “doesn’t look great,” Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.
That’s not good news for Carter, who entered training camp looking to earn himself a regular rotational role at defensive tackle behind Roy Lopez and Walter Nolen. Carter will undergo further tests to determine the severity of his injury, and it won’t be surprising if he is ruled out for the Cardinals’ preseason opener against the Raiders on Thursday.

Cardinals’ Xavier Weaver: Gets involved before injury
Weaver (concussion) caught three of five targets for 31 yards during Thursday’s 33-30 preseason loss versus the Panthers.
Weaver was second among Arizona receivers in targets in the preseason opener, but he finished out the day in concussion protocol. He is a legitimate candidate to earn a depth role among Cardinals receivers in 2026 provided he can get back on the field in good time.

Cardinals’ Simi Fehoko: Scores in preseason opener
Fehoko caught his only target for a five-yard touchdown during Thursday’s 33-30 preseason loss versus the Panthers.
Fehoko took advantage of his length (6-foot-4) to beat cornerback Corey Thornton (6-foot-1) on a fade route in the middle of the second quarter for Arizona’s second score of the day. Arizona didn’t make any huge moves at wide receiver during the offseason, so Fehoko has a real shot to make the opening 53-man roster in 2026.

Cardinals’ Corey Kiner: Finds paydirt Thursday
Kiner recorded 14 carries for 57 yards and a touchdown during Thursday’s 33-30 preseason loss versus the Panthers. He also logged two catches for nine yards.
Kiner opened the scoring in the first exhibition of the preseason with a one-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second quarter. He also led both teams in carries while maintaining decent efficiency. Whether he makes the cut for Arizona’s initial 53-man roster could depend somewhat on the health of veteran James Conner (foot).
