Cardinals’ Xavier Weaver: Placed on IR
Weaver (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve by the Cardinals on Monday.
The wide receiver suffered a concussion earlier in camp but cleared the protocol in time for Arizona’s preseason clash with Dallas on Saturday. Unfortunately, he injured his hamstring in that game, prompting the move to IR. The severity of Weaver’s injury remains unclear, but to play in 2026, he would have to reach an injury settlement with the Cardinals.

Cardinals’ James Conner: DNP on Monday
Conner (foot) didn’t take part in Monday’s practice, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
Conner hasn’t played in any of the Cardinals‘ three preseason games so far and also hasn’t been seen for the last handful of practices. He’s dealing with lingering issues related to the foot surgery he underwent last fall and ended his season after Week 3. With Trey Benson (knee) getting waived/injured Monday, Conner is the top running back behind the duo of rookie third overall pick Jeremiyah Love (ankle) and Tyler Allgeier. Until Conner gets back on the field, though, Bam Knight is the team’s likely No. 3 RB.

Cardinals’ Carson Beck: Remains limited at practice
Beck (ribs) continued to be a limited participant at Monday’s practice, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports.
Beck fared well in the Hall of Fame Game against the Panthers, completing 15 of 19 passes for 188 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. However, the rookie third-round pick came out of that contest with a rib injury that has capped his practice reps in the meantime and otherwise sidelined him for the Cardinals‘ next two exhibitions. Beck thus has one more chance for preseason action Friday at Green Bay before likely being relegated to the team’s No. 3 QB role behind Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew to begin his career.

Cardinals’ Josh Sweat: Activated from active/PUP list
Sweat (knee) was activated from the active/PUP list Monday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals‘ official site reports.
Sweat opened training camp on the PUP list due to a knee injury, but he’s well enough now to take part in practice. Arizona likely will ramp up his activity level over the next few weeks with the season opener on Sunday, Sept. 13 at the Chargers in mind. in 17 regular-season games during the 2025 campaign, Sweat racked up 12.0 sacks among his 30 tackles.

Cardinals’ Jeremiyah Love: Remains sidelined by ankle issue
Coach Mike LaFleur said Monday that Love is progressing in his recovery from a high-ankle sprain but will remain sidelined this week, Darren Urban of the Cardinals‘ official site reports.
Love emerged from preseason Week 1 with an ankle injury that eventually was revealed to be severe enough to require a multi-week absence. While LaFleur relayed last Thursday that Love won’t need surgery, the rookie third overall pick won’t play again during exhibition season, meaning his next chance for game action is Sunday, Sept. 13 at the Chargers. If Love isn’t able to go in the season opener, Tyler Allgeier likely will be Arizona’s lead runner in that contest.
