Gallen (elbow) threw three innings and 45 pitches in a bridge game at the Diamondbacks‘ training facility Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Given the pitch count, Gallen doesn’t appear to be far away from returning from the 60-day injured list. He’ll still need to push his pitch count up over one or two more rehab outings, but the report indicates that Gallen could be a candidate to rejoin the Arizona rotation during its series with the Royals, which runs from Sept. 7 through 9.

Burnes (elbow) threw one inning and 13 pitches in a bridge game at the Diamondbacks‘ training facility Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Burnes followed up with another 11 pitches in the bullpen. The right-hander could graduate to a rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno beginning Saturday.

Troy (shoulder) went 2-for-4 with a walk for Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.

Troy kicked off a rehab assignment with the Aces this week. He played seven innings at second base Tuesday followed by nine innings in center field Wednesday. Troy has been sidelined with a sprained right AC joint since July 11 when he crashed into a wall while making a running catch.

Lawlar went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday’s 2-0 win over the Cubs.

The 24-year-old broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning when he drove a Matthew Boyd changeup the other way for his third long ball of the season. Lawlar left Tuesday’s contest early after being hit in the head by a pitch, but he cleared the concussion protocol and seems none the worse for wear. In eight games since recovering from a hamstring strain and coming off the IL on Aug. 17, Lawlar has gone 6-for-24 (.250) with two homers, four runs and four RBI, but a 0:9 BB:K.
