Diwali celebrations will take centre stage on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 as Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Ravie Dubey join host Amitabh Bachchan for a special festive episode. The two episodes will air on October 29 and 30 at 9 p.m. on Sony Entertainment Television and stream on SonyLIV.
The appearance is a promotional stop for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, with Ranbir as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The film, the first part of a planned two-part epic, is set to open in theatres on November 5.
A promo released by Sony TV offers a glimpse of the conversations and lighthearted moments planned for the occasion. In it, Ranbir asks Bachchan about his memories of Diwali, and the veteran actor recalls the friendly competition that came with the festival in his neighbourhood growing up — if a neighbour’s firecracker went off, his had to be louder.
The episode also brings Ranbir and Bachchan together on television following their previous collaboration in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra: Part One — Shiva, released in 2022, in which Ranbir played Shiva and Bachchan played Guru.
