The Arizona Cardinals opened Week 8 prep Wednesday with question marks across the backfield and at receiver, ahead of Sunday at Dallas.
Andrew Wingard (knee) was limited Wednesday. He’s missed the past three games with a bone bruise from Week 4 against the Giants, so his Week 8 availability is in question. If he gets to full participation Thursday or Friday, there’s a good chance he suits up Sunday.
Mack Wilson (knee) did not practice Wednesday. His absence was marked not injury related, but there does seem to be a knee issue, and Thursday and Friday will show more on whether he’s in danger of sitting out Week 8.
Michael Wilson (ribs) was limited Wednesday. He told Arizona media he came out of Sunday’s loss to the Broncos with sore ribs, and he has two more chances this week to get back to full before a designation for Sunday.
Tyler Allgeier (toe) did not practice Wednesday, with the toe injury the reason for his absence. It’s unclear if it’s a health concern or just a day off, but Wednesday’s practice report will say more.
Jeremiyah Love (ankle) will be limited Wednesday, per head coach Mike LaFleur. LaFleur said Monday Love was slated to practice Wednesday, so this isn’t a surprise. He’ll have two more chances to get back to full this week before a ruling on Sunday at Dallas. He’s missed the last two games with a lingering ankle injury, with Allgeier and Bam Knight splitting the backfield reps in that span.
Budda Baker logged only two tackles (one solo) in Sunday’s 30-16 loss to Denver. He was cleared to play after nursing a groin injury, was on the field for 59 of the Cardinals’ 61 defensive snaps, and the two stops were a season low.
What that means, plainly: Arizona isn’t ruling anyone out yet, but Wingard, Mack Wilson, Michael Wilson and Allgeier all need to progress Thursday or Friday to be ready for Dallas, with Love working back in limited form and able to play.
